For those who aren’t aware, Undyne was actually my first body paint cosplay, two years ago. I dug up this old photo and y'all I’m SO proud of how much I’ve improved over the years.

They really went and fixed every issue with the original in one go huh

My understanding is that it’s not even a reboot.

It’s just a continuation of the franchise without the “Jack Sparrow” character. It’s a whole world of piracy, magic, and adventures, so why limit it to revolving around the adventures of one dude and his friends?

From what I’m hearing, it’s going to focus on the character of Redd from the ride.

Remember the one part in the ride where the pirates are auctioning off the women? And a bunch of the pirates are chanting “We wants the redhead!” and sure enough, there’s a gorgeous redhead getting auctioned off?

Well, luckily, Disney recently changed the scene. There are now no women getting auctioned off, and the redhead, since renamed Redd, is a pirate captain in her own right.

The reworked character has become so popular that she’s actually a walk around character that you can meet in the park.

I really hope the rumors are true because we deserve a movie or twelve about female pirates

In the same way that spell-users need to spend 8 hours memorising spells, rule that fighters need to spend 8 hours working out or they run out of punch-slots.

It’s usually a full night’s sleep and then somewhere between ten minutes and two hours. Eight full hours of memorization would cripple any adventurer. I did actually read a book one time where this legendary swordsman was required to go through an hour of sword practice every morning or he lost all the powers his magic sword granted him because the spirits of the blade hate lazy people.

My buddy, my pal, I spend my time writing D&D jokes on tumblr. What part of that description makes you think I have ever, at any point in my life, been anywhere even remotely near a gym?

oh, sure, when SPIDERMAN leaps from rooftop to rooftop, performing death-defying extreme parkour stunts as he swings through the city, he’s “a hero” and “protecting the city”, but when i do it i’m “illegally trespassing on private property” and “a menace to society”, THAT’S how it is, huh,

What I find really odd about fanfic in general is that you can almost tell what kind of a person is writing it, you know??
Like some people are really poetic in their descriptions, some people almost drown in the feelings they write, others create dialogue that flows so well it feels like you’re watching real people discuss things in front of your eyes…
I just really love that aspect of it, and I love placing writers in a kind of “hey look they’re a descriptions/feelings/dialogue kind of person” box so to speak. It’s such a pleasure reading it when it’s written so individually

Well now I’m curious what you guys think I am? Descriptions/feelings/dialogue writer?

A sadly radical idea: stop treating shyness like a detriment or a character flaw. Stop pointing out to quiet people that they’re quiet - they know. And often they’re ashamed of it. Remove classroom policies that grade students on how often they raise their hands in class and instead score participation all across the spectrum - observing, reading, paying attention, responding to assignments and questions via writing- treat them all as real and critical methods of classroom engagement that don’t privilege non-shy students over shy students.

Encourage networking at career events but don’t make it mandatory. Include group projects, mingling, and roleplaying at career events and in classrooms but also provide alternative options.

There is nothing wrong with being quiet and preferring to observe the world rather than speak about it. Instead of creating an atmosphere in which schools tell students’ parents at teacher conferences that their children are “so quiet,” think about what that statement really means - that one child’s way of interacting with the world is somehow flawed.

The way we think about, react to, and classify shy people is a value judgment. It shouldn’t be.
